Pakistan Philatelic Association (PPA), Lahore, Monthly Meeting September 2026

Monthly meeting of the association has always been held on the second Sunday of the month, and this time was no different. On 13 Sept 2026, Mr. M.A. Naeem, Mr. Sheikh Asif, Mr. Tariq Saeed, Mr. Muhammad Waseem, Mr. Rashid Lateef, Mr. Altaf Hussain, Mr. Khawaja Mughees, Mr. Fareed Naseem, Mr. Jameel Ahmed, Mr. Ahmed Shahzad Bhatti, Mr.  Ajaz-ul-Haq, Mr. Salman Shahid, Mr. Shahid Manzoor, Mr. Arshad Mehmood Ghauri, Mr. Mutahir Naqvi, Mr. Sheikh Waqas, Mr. Muhammad Ali Abid, Mr. Ehtesham-ul-Haq, Mr. Muhammad Younas, and Mr. Wahid Zia, gathered at the residence of Association president Mr. Jameel Bhatti at the set time.

The meeting started with a beautiful Quran recitation by Mr. M.A. Naeem. Afterwards, Mr. Jameel Bhatti gave his excellent insight on how to revive the association as there hasn’t been any event or exhibit organized for nearly 10 years now. He informed us about, how when the association was first made in 1949, many enthusiastic youngsters actively participated and helped to organize multiple exhibitions. He wishes for the current young generation to show the same energy when it comes to stamp shows and exhibitions. The members displayed full agreement with this idea of bringing the old energy back.

On that note, Mr. Tariq Saeed offered the association to visit his school in Valencia, Lahore. He said that, he would love to host the next meeting at Misber School, and to help us organize a stamps show over there to promote the love for philately in young children.

Later the discussion moved towards the renovation of frames for the upcoming UPU Day exhibition.  At that, Mr. Shahid Manzoor, Mr. Tariq Saeed, Mr. Khawaja Mughees, Mr. Arshad Mehmood Ghauri, Mr. M.A. Naeem, and Mr. Mutahir Naqvi, made a donation to help move the renovation work faster.

Hopefully, by the end of this month the frames will be done and the spring of stamps love will slowly start to bloom all over again. Most of the time was occupied by similar discussions, so there was little time left for the auction segment. Even then, everyone made full use of what little time we had, with full vigor and gusto.

In the end, as per usual, samosas were served along-side samosas tea, but the shaker paras were substituted with hot jalebis. All the members fully enjoyed their time.
