Golden Memories

Starting from 1951 up until 2025, PPA has organized many exhibitions. On each of these exhibitions, special cancellations and envelopes were issued, and stamps were also issued occasionally. But sadly, there is no record of these exhibits or releases. We aim to post all of the above-mentioned data here on this platform under the name of “Golden Memories”.

PPA members meeting with Chief Post-master Fayaz Gull

Today, Pakistan Philatelic Association members had a meeting with Chief Post-master Fayaz Gull. M.A. Naeem, Jameel Ahmad, Ahmed Shahzad Bhatti, Arshad Ghori, Haroon Ahmad Khan, Khwaja Mughees, Muhammad Usman, Rana Yunas & Imtiaz Sabzwari, all participated in the meeting that was held mainly to discuss about the progress of our preparations for the UPU day exhibit. Mr. Fayaz Gull seemed to be very thrilled to be hosting this exhibit and reminded us again and again that he’ll do everything in his power to spread the love for philately — and he’ll be happy to host any and every future exhibition alongside us.

Mr. M.A. Naeem informed Mr. Fayaz Gull, that the association has already sent the exhibit frames ahead to the vendors for restoration, and they will be all ready and as good as new before the exhibit. 

The final date for this exhibition will be discussed in the next meeting, whether it’ll be held on either 9^th October or 11^th October. All members will be informed about the finalized date, as soon as it’s decided. 

We urge all the members to get started with their collection preparations for the exhibit, so that they’ll be able to take part in the exhibition without any hitch. If any member needs any kind of help, please feel free to get in touch with us through the associations WhatsApp group.

Pakistan Philatelic Association (PPA), Lahore, Monthly Meeting August, 2026

 Today, on 9^th August (second Sunday of the August), the monthly meeting of PPA was held at the house of the society president, Mr. Jamil Bhatti. As compared to last month, Mr. Jamil was feeling quite better, all the embers wished him a full recover, and he joined us this time to make some future decisions for PPA.

Even though there was slight drizzling outside, the stamps enthusiasts arrived on time and everything went smoothly according to the set schedule and time.

This month, the main aim of this meeting was to discuss the future plans of stamp exhibit events held by the society, a special committee was also formed for this specific purpose. The members of the committee will be:

Hopefully, the first exhibit will be held in October, and the preparations are already in action. Insha-Allah, theses exhibits will be help time to time from than onwards. During this meeting, a detailed discussion, about ways to make our society even better, was done. This discussion ended up taking most of our time, but still, an amazing auction was held in a crunch of time.  

At the end of the meeting, samosas and shaker-paras along-side chai were served to the members.
